Stranger Things' new prequel project will finally give Sadie Sink's character Max Mayfield a backstory after she first arrived in Hawkins in season two of the hit Netflix show. Stranger Things: Runaway Max, written by Brenna Yovanoff, will be released on June 4 by Random House, just one month before season three premieres. The novel will focus on why Max came to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana with her brother Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) at the beginning of season two, with the novel set to provide more of an insight into their past.

Back in January, Sadie teased that Max's relationship with Lucas will be a big focus of season three. "Max and Lucas have this hilarious relationship that I think everyone's gonna love, " she told Marie Claire. "You've got some really funny plots this season." ....
