Valerie MaconGetty Images Stranger Things and Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin is set to make a guest appearance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The actor, best known for his role as hobbit Samwise Gamgee in LOTR, will appear on the NBC cop sitcom on April 25 in an episode that takes place in real time. In the episode 'Ticking Clocks', he'll play a sergeant in the NYPD Cyber Operations Unit who assists the Nine-Nine, as they attempt to track down a hacker who has been messing up their servers. Netflix On casting Sean in a guest role, the show's co-creator Dan Goor told Entertainment Weekly: "Working with Sean Astin has been a dream of mine since I saw first saw Rudy." "I'm what you call an Astin-head. When he tweeted his support for Brooklyn Nine-Nine as a member of the Guardians of the 99, I was blown away. I'm so excited to have him on the show." Astin was one of the stars who took to social media to help immediately resurrect Brooklyn Nine-Nine after it was cancelled by Fox in May last year. He wrote on Twitter at the time: "Here's ....
