For Grey’s Anatomy fans, the month of December is bleak. The fall finale premiered on Nov. 21, 2019, and the series will not come back until Jan. 23, 2020. This hiatus means a full eight weeks without Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo),  Alex Karev (Justin Chambers),  Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), and the rest of Shondaland’s favorite characters.  The only good news comes in the form of an early Christmas present from Netflix. Many of the doctors were relaxing at Joe’s Bar, having a beer after a long day, when a car came crashing through the walls of the underground tavern. In other big news, Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) sent Meredith a package in the form of a sexy new chief of pediatric surgery,  Dr. Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood)—McWidow. The surgeon is also a widow, like Meredith, and has that arrogant attitude that she tends to fall love.  There was also plenty of sad news on the show. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) has a miscarriage after spending most of the episode swapping adorable pregnancy stories with Amelia. Speaking of babies, Jo (Camilla Luddington) popped over to the Station 19 firehouse (Grey’s 2nd spinoff) to be a Safe Haven volunteer. Instead of giving the baby that was left at the fire station to the social worker, she takes it home. .
