Thanks To ‘Westworld,’ We Can Officially Erase The Final Season Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ From Canon – Forbes

(Photo by Michael Kovac/Getty Images for Netflix) Getty Images for Netflix A surprise cameo during last night’s episode of Westworld featured former Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, presumably shot during the period when the show was still beloved by fans.  The scene features the two as park technicians, toying with the idea of dismembering a robot dragon (Daenerys’ favorite baby, Drogon) for ease of transport. Thus, disgruntled Game of Thrones fans can now officially erase the despised season 8 from canon (if they haven’t already). In this new canon, Game of Thrones was cancelled prematurely, right after Brienne of Tarth was knighted - it’s just a shame fans never got to see how the story ended. The remaining episodes of Thrones were undoubtedly “season 2.5” of Westworld, showcasing the park’s nostalgia-fuelled attempt to recreate the popular show, known as “Westeros World.” Park visitors got to experience the horrors of a White Walker invasion, sail on a pirate ship and shoot down a dragon, or flee in terror before her Satanic Majesty, Daenerys Targaryen.   Of course, like any licensed fan fiction, “Westeros World” contained a great deal of inaccuracies and mistakes ....
